Insider 3000 has a powerful function to update the archives:
-
The very common ASCII file data import. The program reads in a file in ASCII format containing the data and it updates the various securities, with the possibility to add them if not already present. The records inside the ASCII file can have any format. The format will have to be described to the program using the appropriate function. This way, Insider 3000 is compatible with almost all data providers and historical series. larger picture

Web connecting to a server like Yahoo, or more in general to any Web Server which allows data export using a standard http query string (like Quotetracker).

Insider 3000 has various guided functions (WIZARD) to do operations like the import of the data, or data export to a text file, Rollover (very useful function for feature and derivatives in general, switching between their expiring and the next one) in a simple and intuitive way.
NB The program can read and write metastock data format, which has become the standard de facto.
