Workgroups in Insider 3000 are a workspace area which can contain infinite charts. There is no limit to the number of charts that can be represented (a part from the resources of the computer). There is no logical limit also for the number of Workgroups which can be created. The charts contained in a Workgroup can have been created using a data in Metastock format. or .idf file (Insider 3000 Data File = proprietary format) and these can be located in one or more folders locally or on a LAN.

Every Workgroup can contain charts with different time bases. On the same group there can be intraday charts tick by tick, with 1,2,5 etc minutes along with other charts with daily weekly, monthly or even yearly time base.

A Workgroup can contain also any number of instances of the same data file. This means that the same security can be opened infinite times within the same group, and each time is independent from the others even though then share the same data.

Having different Workgroups gives the user the possibility to divide with certain criteria the charts kept under control. For example they can be groped by market, type or even by the user who created them, if there are more users using the program. In fact, each Workgroup is independent from the others.

Explores Data File on a special Insider 3000 form, from which it is possible to explore the folders containing data files. From here it is possible to open the charts the charts based on this data and add them to the various Workgroups. From this window it is possible to access every file which can be read in Insider 3000, manage the list of intraday files (real time) and also manage the active Workgroup.

It is possible to save the layout of a chart and use it to open other charts. This function is particularly useful to study a series of charts with the same indicators, studies, trading systems, internal windows, etc.

This is a particular window. It is fundamental for the construction and the modification of all type of indicators, objects, trading systems. It is the property window from which it is possible to "control" almost every aspect of the program. It has been studied, created and tested on the field with only one objective in mind: the access to objects, indicators, studies, trading systems and various settings, had to be quick, fast, and intuitive.

The form has two parts:

• In the upper part there is a tree structure containing the list of various objects, indicators, trading systems, etc.

• The lower part shows all the properties of the selected object which can be modified.

A part from the main windows which contains the cart in any of the available forms (Line, Bar Chart, Candlestick, Candlevolume, Point & Figure, Three Lines Break, Kagi Chart), anche un certo numero di finestre interne (Inner Windows), any number of Inner windows can be opened, The actual limit depends on the system resources.

In any of these Inner Windows, any number of indicators can be drawn, with the possibility to see them separately (one by one) selecting them from a list, or all together (overlapping).

Each indicator can have any number of objects (studies), visible and editable only when the father indicator is visible and selectable. In case of overlapping indicators, all objects and all studies of all indicators will be visible at the same time.

Each window, can be sized according with the user preferences, it can be just a bar, or maximized (full screen). In this way if there are there are a dozen of internal windows opened, and if a particular one needs to be studied, it just needs to be maximized to have the best visualization.

All Inner Windows are fully customizable.

It is a special form, which allows to communicate with the program. Thanks to the simple and powerful programming language it is possible to ask the program all soft of things. For example to select, colouring in a different way, all the periods for which the exchanged volumes is greater than a given value. Or where the closing price is lower of the one n. days before. just to name a few.

In fact it is possible to make things more and more complex according with the needs and the user creativity.

A tool like this is without any doubts very important. It allows to have the needed information simply telling the program to extract them following a certain logic described using Insider 3000 Programming Language.

In normal conditions, the data represented in the chart has exactly the same periodicity of the data file. They can be also compressed to a different time frames of a minute, hour, day, week, month, year, or any other user interval.

The Y-axis, according with the user preferences, can be visualized in linear scale or a semi/logarithmic one, or it can be given any other scale.

The program has a very powerful Zoom capable of a great zoom factor, maintaining an optimal graphical clarity. It is possible to manually define the interval where to zoom, using a windows where it is asked to insert the number of periods to visualize. This second method is very useful if you want to have a zoom with a precise number of periods.

Once the chart has been zoomed it is possible to scroll it, maintaining the number or displayed periods unchanged. It is also possible to vary the number of displayed periods simply by using the "-" and "+" keys.

To be able to move around the chart there are the possibility to undo the zoom operation up to 5 steps.

An Indicator, (and its linked objects) can be moved from one window to another, simply by selecting it from the window where it is located and drag it over the destination window.

Insider 3000 has very detailed context sensitive help which facilitate access to any of its functions.

These menu are accessible by clicking on the objects, or windows, with the right hand mouse key. Depending on the object, a different menu will appear. In this way is it very rapid to access any of the available functions for the selected element.

All objects can be cut, copied, and pasted on the same or other windows.

Possibility to paste to a MS Excel Spreadsheet or MS Access Database, MS Word document, etc. the data of the historical series of the main chart, or of drawn indicators.

For the main chart, the historical series will include open, close, max, min, volume, etc, for an indicator the historical series will be exactly the values that the indicator will have on the chart.

The function is very useful when there is the need to export the historical series to use in other applications.

Moving the mouse over an objects, study, indicator, etc, a tooltip will appear, containing information on the element over which the mouse was positioned. For example, for a trendline, the information are the name, the start and and date, the first and end price and the inclination angle. This tool is very important to help to immediately identify the element, just by identifying its main characteristics.
