Description:
This function makes data import from a text file, easy and intuitive. The operation can be done directly from the window "Edit - Update historical files" which allows to define any single parameter of the export. It is recommended to use the guided export, unless special results are to be achieved.
Use:
To start the procedure, select the menu entry "Text File Import Wizard" from the menu "File" => "Data Files Management". There are four steps to complete the export:
Step 1
During step 1 it will be asked to define all properties regarding the text file:
Path
Please insert the full path of the text file containing the data to import.

In order to do that press the button "Create New file format" to open the window of creation/edit file format. Once created and saved the new format, come back to the guided import, closing the configuration window.

Once the properties have been defined, click on "Next" to go to the next step. Step 3 In this step are defined all the properties of new files to create, if they are not part of the workgroup.
Create data file if it does not exist
If selected, enable the creation of new data file if they are not part of the destination workgroup.
Data file type
It defines the type of security data file (Metastock, Insider data file)
Folder
Select the folder where to create the new data files
Periodicity
Select the periodicity of new data file

It defines, for intraday periodicity, the minutes per bar.
Once all properties have been defined, click on "Next" to start the update. Step 4
