Modifying an object

It is possible to modify all objects properties at any time.

There are two methods to perform the changes, one can be preferable to the other depending on which properties have to be changed.

  1. If you want to modify the position or the shape of the object, the quickest method is to modify the study directly on the chart, by using the yellow square positioned on strategic points or vertex of the object. Other than these points there is one in particular which is not used to modify the shape of the study but only to move its position inside the window. For a trendline this square is positioned at half its length.

To modify the shape of the object or to move it by using the yellow square, select the object first. Position the cursor on the square to be moved, then click the left hand mouse button, and while keeping it pressed, move it on the new position, until the desired shape or position is reached. When on the correct position, simply release the mouse key.

  2. In order to modify attributes like the color, style, width etc, use the control panel instead. Select the indicator from the Control Panel, and change its properties. The changes become effective only after the buttons "OK" or "Apply" are pressed. In accordance with the value of the option "Apply immediately the new properties values", they could also be immediately applied. In fact in this case the new value of any single property is applied to the indicator the very moment the variation has been made.

To open the control panel on the wanted indicator, use one of the following methods:

    1. If the Control Panel is visible and the treeview shows the indicators list (studies), select an indicator from the chart and position the mouse cursor over the indicator itself so the pointer will be as   . Now click on the left hand mouse button.

    2. Select the indicator from the chart. Click on the right hand mouse button and from the pop-up menu select the entry "Properties". The Control Panel will appear and it will be automatically positioned on the selected indicator.

    NB

    • It is immediately clear if the correct indicator has been selected. On its end points, and on other significant points, the selection yellow squares  are visible.

    • The opposite is also valid. Select the indicator from the Treeview of the Control Panel, with one click. Immediately the indicator will also be highlighted in the chart.
