Grids properties

Vertical grid property (X-axis):

Loading Type Define how the program will load the security data. There are two possible types:

By Periods

Load the last n periods until the maximum number specified in the property "Max Periods Loaded"

By Date

Maximum number of period to load according with the property "Max Periods Loaded" starting from the date time defined in the property "First Date" and "First Time"

Max Periods Loaded

Specify the maximum number of periods which the program will load for a given security. There is limit to this number and it is expressed with the formula: ("Max Periods Loaded" + "Right Margin") <= 200,000

First Date Specify the date of start loading period when the "Loading Type" is set to "By Date"
First Time Specify the date of start loading period when the "Loading Type" is set to "By Date". The property is visible and can be set only for Intraday securities.
Right Margin

Specify the number of empty periods loaded after the last available period available on the security data. Useful to extend the studies and deduce information for the immediate future. The maximum number of periods for the right margin is equal to (200,000 - "Max Periods Loaded").

Real Time Periods

Indicates the number of periods shown in the charts while in real time (during the connection to your data provider). Do not set a too high value for this property to avoid to overload the refresh of charts (suggested value is 2000).

Compression It defines the compression rate of the security data. Can assume one of the following values:

No Compression

The security is loaded with no compression.

Minutely

Every loaded period correspond to the number of minutes specified by the property Minutes / Periods Other Compression. This compression rate is found only on intraday Securities.

Hourly

Each loaded period corresponds to an hour. This compression rate is found only on intraday Securities.

Daily

Each loaded period corresponds to a day. This compression rate is found only on intraday Securities.

Weekly

Each loaded period corresponds to a week.

Monthly

Each loaded period corresponds to a month.

Yearly

Each loaded period corresponds to a year.

Other

Every loaded period corresponds to a set of a number of periods specified with the property "Minutes / Periods Other Compression"

Minutes / Periods Other Compression Specify the number of minutes for the Minutes Compression Type, or the number of periods for any Other type of compression. It can assume the maximum value of 200,000.
Intraday day break (only for compression "other")

This property allows to break by day, in case of "Other" compression, and intraday data. In practice it allows the last compressed candle of a day, not to slip into the next day, even though this last candle could not have the same number of periods as it would be required by the type of compression. All this allows to keep the gap information visible, with the opening of the next day.

Grid Lines Display or not the chart grid lines.
Grid levels number It defines the number of level details displayed in the grid. This is useful to maximize the area dedicated to the chart.
Auto Setting It defines the display mode of the temporal base. If active, the program automatically sets the best details on the temporal base according to the number of displayed periods. It is recommended to keep this option always active (default).
Color Specify the color of the chart vertical gridlines.
Style Specify the style of the chart vertical gridlines.
Width Specify the width of the chart vertical gridlines.

Horizontal grid property (Y-axis):

Scale

Specify the scale of the Y-axis on the security chart (i.e. only on the main window). Can assume one of the following values:

Linear

The Y-axis will be drawn with linear scale in base 10.

Semi-log

The Y-axis will be drawn with logarithmic scale in base 10.

Grid Lines Display or not the chart grid lines.
Format It defines the price format shown in the horizontal grid levels. Possibly used to round decimal values.
Units Specify how to show the prices decimal part along the Y-axis. Valid values are: Decimal, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32, 1/64, 1/128, 1/256.
Color Specify the color of the chart horizontal gridlines.
Style Specify the style of the chart horizontal gridlines.
Width Specify the width of the chart horizontal gridlines.
Right Grid Toggle the display of the vertical right bar, where are specified the price level for the horizontal grids.
Left Grid Toggle the display of the vertical left bar, where the price level for the horizontal grids are specified.
Indicators values on grid

Toggle the display of the indicators value on the right grid:
